How to Transfer a Gas Connection ?

If you are in a Transferable job and relocate quite often, then you would be familiar with the transfer process of a gas connection but for the majority of people still wonder what is the procedure to transfer the gas connection in case of a transfer ?

There are basically two types of transfer, within city moving and Intercity moving.

For within city Packing and Moving:

1. In a within city moment or a local shifting you need to intimate your LPG authorized provider of your shifting so that the authorized distributor will issue a E-Customer transfer advice in case of HP Gas connections (other companies like indane might have other names but the process will be the same). There will be an authorization code on your subscriptions voucher which will be valid for 3 months from the date of issue.
2. The authorisation code has to be submitted in the new area distributors office so that they can enrol you and return back the original document of your enrolment which is to be safely kept in your custody.
3. In a within city transfer of gas connection you do not need to surrender the cylinder and the regulator and can be carried out by the packing and moving company who is assigned to move your household.

For Intercity Packing and Moving:

• In the Intercity transfer you need to get a termination voucher from the authorized distributor of your gas connection and also surrender the gas cylinder + regulator and get refunded back the deposit amount mentioned on the subscription document. This termination voucher will be valid for one year from the date of issue.
• Please note: do not surrender your gas connection consumer card as the same card will be used at the new location by the distributor to get the connection processed ASAP.
• At the new location the same deposit amount mentioned on the termination voucher has to be paid to get the connection activated.

Important note: carrying gas cylinder while transferring your goods from one City to another City is prohibited but majority of the Packers and Movers will carry empty gas cylinder along with your household shifting. Please do inform the mover about the cylinder in advance to avoid any unseen circumstances
